Is it just me that thinks that a movie based on a pretty dull board game like Battleships is just a tad ludicrous? I mean, it’s not like there was any story behind the board game. At any rate, Tetris was a much better game, so why can’t it have movie?
Even if the idea of falling blocks getting a movie spin-off is just as absurd, I’d go and watch it for the nostalgic novelty factor. But the Battleships movie? No thanks. [YouTube via BuzzFeed]
And if you can’t get enough, here’s how they made the trailer.

OMG Yes!
How about Frogger, with that thespian powerhouse Rihanna as the frog.
You could have a Transformers crossover with Optimus Prime being the one that kills her just as she almost makes it across the road..
Details schmetails, just as long as she gets squished.
I think Frogger must have been one of the first computer games I ever played. Back on the old Amiga
Joking aside, there really should be a film (ok ‘documentary’) made about the story of Tetris and it’s inventor Alexey Pajitnov.
Yeah, that’d be pretty good, although quite sad I think. If I remember rightly, he got bugger all out of Nintendo for it.
I think the game that would make the best film is probably Super Mario Bros. Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter would all make brilliant films!!
Wasn’t there already a Super Mario Bros movie? And Wasn’t it TERRIBLE?
