Samsung's already counting the cash and planing a nice little holiday with the proceeds from the sales of its new Galaxy S III model, which has accumulated 9million advance orders from phone shops and networks around the world.

The number comes from Korean news site Korea Economic Daily, which says a total of around 290 networks and suppliers from 145 countries have placed orders for the 4.8" smartphone, which goes on sale at the end of the month. The Galaxy S II launched with an initial run of 3 million units, so this is quite the step up for Samsung, and should help it cement its mobile phone leadership status. [Cnet]
