There’s just over 20 days to wait till Prometheus hits our screens, and I simply can’t wait. We’ve seen the incredible trailers, amusing teasers, and a load of shots from throughout the film, but have you seen just how incredibly detailed those awesome-looking space suits are? It goes to show why Ridley Scott’s incredible attention to detail makes his films just so good.
It’s amazing how creepy Michael Fassbender can look with just a simple blank stare. I particularly like the blue carbon fibre-look too. It might just have stolen my glowing Tron suit-loving heart. [EW via iO9]
Thanks Darrell!

You’re welcome mate. I seriously think that we should arrange some kind of mini meet-up in the week this goes on general release. We can all go together to see it in a big screen multiplex then stand around and chat about it in the pub afterwards.
Also, is it just me or do the suits in the top photos (where the orange piping is more prominent) look very video game-ish?
Very Tron-like, which was supposed to be video game-y I guess. But I think you’re running the risk of any comparison to Tron with bright colour piping.
It seems to only be on Charlize and Noomi’s suits. What’s that about?
Maybe, female suits are distinguished from male suits to prevent you putting on the wrong type when getting dressed in the dark. Logically speaking the internal plumbing (of the suit) will be different for the different sexes.
That could lead to some very messy accidents..
That’s what I thought at first but the other woman (no idea who she is. She’s the third headshot and second from right in the final picture) doesn’t have the piping.
Looks like different logos on the front of their suits. Different designs for different departments?
Maybe it’s the Prometheus equivalent of the star trek Red shirt
I’m coming over to Southampton a week after this is released. So I have TOLD the wife that we will be going to watch this on the big shiny Imax screen whilst we’re there.
I’ve already got my tickets booked for Sunday June 3rd for the proper BFI IMAX in Waterloo.
It’s now sold out there for weeks. Mwahahahahahaha.
This looks, wait for it….. LEG..EN..DARY…… (Thanks Barney from How I Met Your Mother)
This looks LEGEN-wait for it-DARY!
I’m a how ‘HIMYM’ addict!
It looks like the production designers got some inspiration from this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_activity_suit
A GizUK GTG could be fun. London for me, though.
is it just me or does anyone else who rides and motorcycle think the helmets would be great for the open road?
full view, no pressure on the neck and great for keeping noise and wind out. and for the fashion conscious no helmet hair when you get to the office in the morning
The only issue would be that if it breaks then you’d get lots of sharp bits of glass in your face.
In the majority of space suit use cases the air pressure inside the helmet would be greater tan those outside thus propelling shards outwards. Also you would be too busy suffocating in vacuum/alien atmosphere to worry about a bit of glass.
I was talking about wearing the helmets on the roads on earth as caniffis was talking about.
Apologies.
Riding a motorbike on another planet would be pretty cool though!
Hmmm I think you have missed the point of what a crash helmet does, to give you an idea try shaking a plastic bucket with a fresh egg in it, what happens to the egg is what would happen to your head if you were daft enough to ware one of these space helmets on a motor bike and end up on your arse
