Seems everyone wants to cash in on Steve Jobs now he's no longer able to defend himself. A long-lost interview with Jobs from back in 1995, which was originally recorded for a Channel 4 documentary aptly titled The Triumph of the Nerds, has been found on VHS tape, restored and will be released, unedited, as a film.
Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview will hit cinemas in the US next week, with a UK release likely on the cards soon. At the time of the interview Jobs was running NeXT before it was bought by Apple. No doubt there will be a few choice, barbed comments from Jobs like "the only problem with Microsoft is that they just have no taste". Ouch. Small portions of the interview have already seen the light of day on TV, but this is the first time the full hour-long interview will be witnessed in its entirety. I'm sure Apple, Pixar and Jobs-lovers will flock to see it in their droves, making Magnolia a hatful of money in the process. Am I the only one who thinks it’s a bit sad to see Jobs turned into a cash cow though? [Hollywood Reporter via Guardian]
