You can see who RIM’s favourite child is can’t you? The PlayBook simply gets all RIM’s new toys. First it was PlayBook OS 2.0 complete with an email client, and now BB10. It’s just a shame the rest of RIM’s kids are just plain unloved and won’t be getting the new hotness — you’ll have to buy a new phone to get a taste of BlackBerry 10.
According to RIM’s developer Twitter stream, the PlayBook will be getting BB10 soon after the first BB10 handset launches. Of course we have no idea when that’ll actually be, but let’s just hope we see it soon for RIM’s sake. [Twitter via N4BB via Gizmodo Australia]

BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 Review: A Beautiful Desert
This is not a surprise BB10 is (supposedly) a proper, grown up, smartphone OS, you really didn’t think the underspeced and underpowered old blackkberrys stood a chance of running it did you?
No true, but I’m surprised the PlayBook is still getting dragged along.
The playbook is basically their testbed for BB10 much like the iPad is the testbead for iPhone tech.
I guess so, it’s just a very expensive test bed, although the PB will get BB10 after handsets get released apparently.
True, but many of the features are the same as playback os anyway
Cool to know the playbook isn’t getting shafted (it’s the only touch screen device I own and like it!) I just hope that the new OS doesn’t make the device lag or anything (like BB phones do compared to their initial update to the latest big update, everytime I see a lousy transition I want to cry!
