SpaceX Dragon Safely Splashes Down in the Pacific

By Sam Gibbs on at

Good news for those following the intrepid private commercial space explorers. After successfully docking with the ISS, delivering its payload, and being loaded up with a bunch of stuff to take back home -- Dragon has landed safe and sound back on planet Earth.

The amazing thing is that the Dragon capsule managed to take more stuff back to Earth than it actually flew up to the ISS -- a first for an ISS refuelling mission. Hopefully that'll mean less space junk and more data for space-using scientists down here on the ground.

Next step a manned Dragon, and then Mars, maybe? [Gizmodo, WSJ]
