Some might think that Logitech has gone off the UI deep-end with its latest gaming mouse. It tops the company’s previous efforts, and those of its competitors, with a total of twenty—count ‘em twenty—programmable buttons.
Twelve of the buttons have found a home on a curved keypad on the side of the mouse, and with the G600′s G-Shift functionality, they can all serve double-duty. It’s of course designed and targeted at MMO gamers who live and die, literally, by shortcuts, and the custom configurations are actually stored on the mouse so wherever it’s plugged in it’s good to go. With a hefty £70 price tag it might not appeal to the average PC user. That is, until they realise that all those buttons are backlit and can cycle through 16 million colours, making this a veritable party in your hand.

I wish the articles about this mouse would show the white version instead of the black. It looks so much better.
Note the white background of the entire website
You can see it fine on the white parts of the Logitech site, it’d be fine here.
Seems quite the clone of my current mouse

(it only has 1 colour LEDs i suppose, hardly an issue)
Assuming it works the same as the razer naga, it’s highly useful for many games/programs
(the bank of 12 side buttons maps to the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,-,= keys either above the letter keys or the numpad block on the keyboard)
Anything that can remap keybindings can use them
Ah, re-reading things it seems the only difference between this and the naga is this has a tiltable scrollwheel for a couple of extra buttons, i’ll shush now ^^
It seems excessive and yet I find myself desperately trying to justify why I need to buy it right now. Thank goodness for the mad designers at Logitech.
I got the G700 and I thought it was bit too much buttons but this takes the biscuit!
I use an old Logitech Mediaplay mouse.
It has 12 buttons and is the bestest mouse I’ve ever used.
After about 8 years of owning it I’ve finally seen something I could upgrade to
I tried a Razer Naga with 12 buttons on the side and just found it too difficult to differentiate well between the buttons (may be the result of having big thick fingers and thumbs of course). I notice that the new logitech version seems to have tilting to the keys which might make it more easy to tell by feel which buttons are where… I may give it a try.
At the same time, I’m also looking at the Razer Hex, which looks to have a more manageable set of buttons on it. I really need to get into a store that has them and try them out in person.
