UK Networks Say No Thanks to Nokia's 41-Megapixel 808 PureView

I can't say this surprises me, but our networks have more or less all come out and said: "What, Symbian? No thanks." None of them are picking up Nokia's beastly new 808 PureView, even if it has an incredible 41-megapixel camera.

Talking to Wired, O2, T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone all said they won't be carrying it, and Three's likely to follow suit soon. The problem is it’s expensive, and chunky. In a world where the anorexic smartphone rules, a chubster running Symbian just doesn't cut the mustard.

Like I said in my review, it's a seriously good camera, but there's no way I could recommend it to your average Joe on the street, just because Symbian is like a step back into the infuriating past. It is available from Amazon though, so Symbian lovers and camera phone fanatics can snap one up for £500. [Wired]
