41 London Tube Stations Have Virgin Media Wi-Fi, 120 Will be Connected by the End of the Year

By Gary Cutlack on at

Virgin Media's roll out of Wi-Fi access across many of London's tube stations continues to expand, with the ISP now connecting lucky users to the glorious world of the internet at some 41 stations across the city. Just in time for live-streaming the women's high jump at the Olympics.

Virgin says its current aim is to have Wi-Fi available in 120 stations by the end of the year. At the moment, 41 have wireless fun access points, with Virgin claiming to have served 100,000 customers in the four weeks since the sub-surface Wi-Fi scheme went live.
