Once you install Internet Explorer can you use it to download Chrome?
Depends.
If they bundle IE with the xbox software then they would have to allow it for anti-trust reasons. If they don’t bundle it, but you download it if you want from the xbox store, then they do not have to allow access.
But I am sure someone will develop a way to do it.
Would anti-trust apply to this? Can you download a different browser on a PS3?
I don’t think so, but the browser on the PS3 isn’t in a market leading position.
By market leading do you mean xbox vs PS3? Or do you mean Internet Explorer? Either way I think MS are pretty safe..
This whole anti trust crap about IE is insane….
Ipads / Iphones dont offer you a different browser… they come with Safari…. you can then choose to download your own browser.. same as it was with XP with IE and Vista etc
Same goes for Android and windows phone and basically everything else (whats the situation with Mac and Linux?)
MS got punished because they have a larger market share on desktop, but Google + Apple have basically the entire Phone market place. Apple has the entire Tablet market place. I think its BS.

No, Google+ Apple may control the majority of the Smartphone market (around 85%-90% depending on who you ask) but the smartphone market is only around 50% of the phone market. Add to that the face that Google & Apple are fierce competitors and any attempt at comparison with Microsoft’s near monopoly on desktops just evaporates.
Well if you are arguing that feature phones and “dumb phones” should be included in the same category, why shouldnt the ipad be included in the PC category? After all doesn’t it stand for Tablet Computer.
Just out of interest, what is the situation with Chrome Laptops? Do they come with Google Chrome pre installed, or do you get a choice of browsers?
With Chrome laptops Chrome is the OS, not the browser.

Like i said though, if 1 company cant ship something with their OS, another company shouldnt be able to either (Browser and Media player)
When I installed Ubuntu recently I seem to remember it having Firefox pre-installed.
This opened yesterday, and as far as I know, closed within minutes due to over subscription….at least that’s what the Major tweeted last night…I made it in by the skin of my teeth.
At laaaaast. The Xbox 360 can FINALLY be consifered a “one stop shop” fr gaming, media and web browsing. I had no idea IE was coming to 360 at all. Nice surprise.
