Gizmodo loves emoji more than we love some of our own family members and/or sexual partners—sometimes, it's just the best (or only) way to express yourself. But there's a dark side to emoji—they can be weaponised. Let's troll.
It's simple, if a bit time consuming at first.
Step one: type every single emoji into a text. There are hundreds of them. It might tax your thumb(s) a bit. But it'll only take several minutes, and when you're done, you'll have every single emoji in one gigantic block of colorful fish and girls in purple shirts grabbing their heads, a bouillabaisse of strange Japanese iconography and that little cartoon poop pile with eyeballs. Copy and paste the supermoji into an email draft for safekeeping. Now let's mess things up.
The easiest shock and awe method is with iMessage—you'll leave your friends stunned and perhaps nauseous.
But perhaps the trolliest of troll trolls lies within Instagram, which displays emoji in comments, and is ripe for the bombing. If you drop this Iliad-length emoji sheet into a comment, you'll push everything else out of the way, and actually slow the app down to the point that it feels like it could crash.
This is kind of obnoxious. But hey, so is most of Instagram.
