Google’s new Nexus 7 is a great little tablet, but it may have bigger problems than being difficult to unpack: we’re hearing reports that suggest many of the devices have a loose screen.
Phandroid reports that, in some cases, the screen creaks whenever pressure is applied to it. Over time, some users have even reported that the glass begins to protrude over the edge of the bezel. A thread on XDA Developers suggests that it’s easy enough to fix by taking off the back and tightening a couple of screws, though. Is your screen loose? Have you tried the fix? I heard about the lower left-side creaking issue, and problems with the screen, image retention etc etc…
Thankfully nothing here to report, but if these problems are noticed, they should get a replacement ASAP.

Seriously it required no great effort. The outer sleeve IS tight and the tape that holds the lid on IS thick but that’s pretty standard on expensive electronics.

no, that’s on charge for tonight. had it on charge for ages from my work laptop, but I guess the ports on this shitty old thing don’t have the juice for a tablet.

Confirmed, the creaking at least. And screen is not quite aligned, slightly angled to the right. 2 months to develop. Wasn’t expecting great build quality so im not too bothered. You pay for what you get.
