Lenovo isn’t too fussed about Microsoft’s Surface, even going as far ahead to prep their own Windows RT device, and this is probably why. According to the company, RT tablets are going to cost quite a bit cheaper than their Windows 8 counterparts, in fact, up to £190 cheaper, making it a more lucrative and cheaper entry point for consumers.
David Schmoock, head of Lenovo’s North American operations has said that “RT will play in consumer and retail at very aggressive price points. It will do well but it’s going to be more of a consumer price point play to begin with,” he said to Bloomberg, yesterday.
While Windows 8 tablets will be more compatible with other Windows software, it’s going to cost more, between $600 (£380) to $700 (£446), making RT devices a “good consumer box”.
What do you guys think, would you pay extra for a Windows 8 tablet or would you rather get in at a cheaper price point for some RT lovin’? [Bloomberg]

I want the Surface to be released at £195 so these will be a fiver
Do we yet know if the Surface will be released in the UK?
If the RT tablets really are around £200, then yes, I will be picking up one of them up.
Let’s just hope there will actually be some apps for the Microsoft OS this time around
i’ll wait till iPad mini comes out instead
is it going to be a iPad mini or a ‘big’ iPhone?
ipod touch… its not a phone :p
iThought the iPod Touch was already a mini-iPad?!
its a mini mini ipad
iConfused
I think it’s an iMax iPod iTouchPad
I’ll get whichever is going to be the better spec for the money, and look like lasting the longest.
Why are we listening to this Schmoock, already?
It’s never too early to listen to Schmoock…!
