Looks like Microsoft's let slip that the Xbox 720 will be with us within a year and a half. A job opening within Microsoft's marketing team actually states that Microsoft will be rolling out a new version of the Xbox within 18 months. Time to get saving your pennies.
Rumours have been circulating for a while now that the Xbox 720, Durango, or whatever you want to call it, will be here by Christmas next year. Now we have this to basically back it up:
"Over the next eighteen months, Microsoft will release new versions of all our most significant products including Windows (Client, Server, Phone and Azure), Office and Xbox, along with completely new offerings like Microsoft Surface."
Of course, that could just be someone speaking out of turn, but if that doesn't scream next generation Xbox, I don't know what does. It's about time we got some new hardware out of Microsoft, that wasn't tablet related anyway; even with Kinect, the 360's looking a tad tired these days. Game on Microsoft -- let's see what you've got hidden away, deep in your gaming powerhouse. [Microsoft via VideoGamer via TechRadar]
