Good news Prometheus fans, after a box office success to the tune of £194m, Ridley Scott has just confirmed rumours that a sequel is definitely in the works, and he's pushing for a 2014 to 2015 release.
Scott talked up what the plan is for the sequel -- keeping David alive and following Elizabeth back to where the engineers came from. Let's be honest, we could probably have guessed that much from the end of Prometheus, but it's nice to get a confirmation from the horse's mouth that things are "actively pushing forward". One difference, though, is that the original screen writer, Damon Lindelof, might be out of the running this time round, so perhaps the script will be less full of holes, maybe.
For me, Prometheus didn't quite live up to the hype, but that doesn’t mean I didn't think it was great. I'm eager to see where the Alien universe is heading, and if Prometheus 2 brings with it the same visuals, with a better script, it can only be a good thing. [The Hollywood Reporter via TotalFilm]
