The next iPhone is on the way, and a handful of rumours point to a launch on September 12th. Now, Sharp has announced that it’s shipping screens for the new device this month — so it looks like those dates could be believable.
Sharp’s new president, Takashi Okuda, said that “shipments will start in August” at a press conferences this morning. If rumours are to be believed, the screens are going to be 4 inches on the diagonal, with an aspect ratio of 16:9, and pack technology to make them thinner and improve battery life. Let’s wait and see. [Reuters]

Will The iPhone 5 Really Have a Bigger Screen and Ship In The Summer?
I thought Samsung made the screens? Is this another kick in the teeth for them?
Sharp have always been a screen supplier, along with (I think) Hitachi and one other. I think Sharp is their most reliable supplier in terms of quality though as I seem to recall something on Giz about delays in iPad supply due to other companies no meeting quality standards.
I thought Sharp was dropped as the manufacturer for the last lot of devices because they couldn’t make enough in time.
That’s 3..

No it’s 5. http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/tag/iphone-5/
Right you are. I still dispute calling that iPod Nano article a iPhone 5 rumour article though. It has nothing to do with the iPhone 5 seeing as the 4S already has Bluetooth 4.0.. But anyway..
The rules were “any article that used the iPhone 5 Tag”. This avoids any dispute such as yours over the nano article. Also if Giz stops using the iPhone 5 tag for iPhone 5 articles they will not count either.
Haha so we need to convince Kat to include the iPhone 5 tag in every new article..
Surely they should all count – thats 15.
Again I refer you to the rules. The roundup post was counted as number 1.
I’ve compiled all these giz articles and rumours into a youtube video with the latest rumours.
