I got a neon-pink pedicure earlier this afternoon and now I’m kinda regretting it, because Nokia seems to have co-opted the colour pink, as well as the medium of nail polish, with this ridiculous Nokia Lumia-branded hot pink nail lacquer. Ugh.
As if Facebook-branded YSL eye-palettes weren’t bad enough, here comes Nokia, wrapping its meaty pink fist around what I was told today is “the” colour of this summer’s fingers and toes.
The polish was designed by Duality Cosmetics and is being used in manicure booths at Lumia events in Denver, Dallas, and Los Angeles—where label whores Lumia lovers can receive manicures to match their phones from Nicki Minaj’s own personal nail artist, Kandy Banks. Fancy. [DesignTaxi]

Wouldn’t Nokia be better off saving their marketing money for the release of Win 8 Phones in Q4, given that WP7 is all but a dead Mobile OS now?
My thoughts exactly when I read this. They appear to be flogging a dead horse. A dead, pink, horse no less.
I’m wondering how many of these are unsold blue models that have been returned to/Never left the factory and been recased. Since the number of people who will buy a hot pink phone is quite large (here in Essex anyway) and the percentage of those who care about software updates (or even what os it’s running so long as it does facebook/twitter) is quite small, this may be a good tactic to clear inventory.
