If there are any inmates reading the site, you might want to pay attention. Instead of polished steel or gleaming ceramic, this letter opener’s razor-edged blade is made from 100 percent recycled paper mixed with a water-based resin derived from cashew shells.
It’s like a £30 prison shank that can be used to open your mail without shredding the envelopes—instead of settling a grudge between cell blocks. And it comes with a handle made of sustainably harvested poplar wood, and packaging that can presumably be recycled into more eco-friendly shivs. [UncommonGoods via BLTD]

Surely if its 100 percent recycled paper mixed with a water-based resin derived from cashew shells, then it isn’t 100% recycled paper…? XD
I think it means the paper content is 100% recycled
OMG, it’s made from paper and not metal? That thing could easily pass the metal detectors at the airport!!! And look at the point on that lethal weapon.
This needs to be banned now before it’s too late.
I wonder if the metal rivet holding the blade to the handle is there to stop this from happening. I also wonder if it could actually do much damage if used as a weapon, since you can open letters with plastic knifes, but it’s hard to stab someone or slit their throat using them.
I’d be happy to attempt to confirm this theory Darrell, come over to mine next week? I’ll have the plastic knives ready.
Why would you want to stab me? Is your desire merely one of scientific curiosity or is there some darker motive?

Mr dirtmagic has aptly illustrated my motives below.
