What you're looking at here is Standford's driverless Audi TTS, which can blast round a track much faster than you could ever dream of going, and it's entirely automated.
This isn't the first outing for the driverless Audi TTS, but it's made huge leaps and bounds since 2009. It uses GPS and a variety of sensors to determine where it is on the track; the optimum braking points, and the maximum speed the mechanical grip of the car on the track will permit round corners. Needless to say, if you were in this thing as it hurtled around you’d be truly terrified. Still, you still have one advantage over Skynet for now -- this car can't negotiate obstacles like other cars just yet, but when it does, racing drivers' days are numbered. [YouTube via Jalopnik]
