On top of that, at around £9, they aren’t a bad deal, especially considering they’re no doubt tougher than your average charging cable and way less likely to get tangled. Just don’t pick one up if you have any interest in new iDevices. Hows it obsolete when the newest iPad uses this connector? I can’t see Apple releasing a fourth iPad, unless its the mini, any time soon so its hardly obsolete.

People only have themselves to blame if they insist on buying stuff from a company that refuses to accept industry standards – they can change anything they want to and to heck with the consumer!
Hardly obsolete. Every Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad sold in the last however many years needs one – that won’t just stop if/when a new connector is released for at least five years.
