Samsung and Apple are going head to head in court right now, so doesn’t it make sense for the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 4S to go head to head behind a speeding car? OK, maybe it doesn’t follow, but it’s fun to watch.
This is the first ever “Drag Race Scratch Test” in which YouTuber aperfectgalaxy submits both phones to dragging hell and sees which comes out the least demolished. On top of the whole phone-dragging thing, our host is delightful, even if his footage is jittery as hell and makes you feel like you’ve just had 16 cups of coffee too many. The iPhone is by far the better phone
Smart Phones are not good phones, they’re good multi-purpose devices. If I wanted just a phone I’d get something different entirely.
The iPhone fails compared to something running on Android because you can do far less on it due to Apple restricting everything. I mean the web without flash is basically useless and I’m sick of having to use apps like bbc iplayer because it sucks… the website is far better and I can view the website on android and can’t on IOS.
To bad android are dropping it in jelly bean, and flash is not in google chrome for android, so I guess you Will soon be watching eastenders on BBC iPlayer on your android device
………
The good thing about Android is you can easily use any rom you want. Besides just download a third party browser :\ I’ve never used stock Android apps, it’s like Windows you always use the far better third party stuff. So because Android is open you can run anything on it, rather than Apple deciding what you should use on iTunes.
That’s funny, because the last time I checked you can use any custom ROM on an iPhone, after a 2 minute long jailbreak process… Oh and wait! You can also download a third party browser that has flash on the iPhone! Oh wait, that’s useless, because Adobe are dropping mobile flash support! And sure, you can run anything on the android, including all of the malware and viruses that run rife on the android store because of no deciding what gets in. When was the last iPhone virus? I don’t remember, because iPhones don’t get viruses.
Uhh before you get all high and mighty, pretty sure there has been Malware in the Apple Marketplace before..
I really don’t understand why anybody can compare the iPhone and Android and come to the conclusion that Android is better. Maybe it’s because they can’t afford iPhones
LOOK at the video, the guy has a iphone and a galaxy and LOOK AT THAT! Samsung Dominates
Kie’s comment is brought to you by the year 2007.
Oh yeah, sure, the occasional stuff gets through, and I’m not arguing even that the iPhone is better than the Samsung, merely that his points are pretty bad, and that the Android marketplace is far less secure.

Re: I have virus on my iphone 4

I have a similar problem, and the suggestion here fails to correct the problem. On my iphone 3gs, in safari, I typed in a web site url I have visited many times,
mst.edu
Safari redirects it to the following:
http://www.tsm.mst.edu/?mobile=true
This is the only web site with which I have noticed this issue. I cleared everything, and I closed safari (even in the background), but it still redirects.”
That’s apple discussion forums for you
Thanks for your numberplate jeff…
Great test, but I could have predicted the results having worked with both phones. iPhones get brought back to us every other day with broken screens, all our Samsung phones, never had a broken screen.
Have you seen the drop tests?
iPhone is more shattered, but it still works.

Wow that’s pretty amazing, there was hardly a scratch on that S3 but in one of the articles a while back where they were doing a drop test, the 4S won so each phone comes with it’s pros and cons I guess.
I didn’t see a mention of it but doesn’t the iPhone 4S has gorilla glass 1 and the S3 Gorilla glass 2? That would explain it’s much better durability.
I was under the impression that Apple didn’t use Gorilla glass and that they used their own glass, I could be wrong but im positive they don’t use Gorilla glass.
In fact Apple (iPhone) was the first Smartphone/Consumer device to have Gorilla glass.
“In 2006, while developing the first iPhone, Apple discovered that keys placed in a pocket with the prototype could scratch its hard plastic surface – and resolved to find a glass sufficiently scratch-resistant to eliminate the problem.[6][7] When Steve Jobs subsequently contacted Wendell Weeks, the CEO of Corning told him of the material the company had developed in the 1960s and subsequently mothballed.
Despite the CEO’s initial concern that the company could manufacture sufficient quantities for the product debut, Jobs convinced Weeks to produce the glass and Corning’s Harrodsburg, Kentucky factory supplied the screens for the product’s release in June 2007.[5]
Thereafter, Corning further developed the material for a range of smartphones and other consumer electronics devices for a range of companies.[8][3][9]”
From Wikipedia
Thanks for that Alex the closest i got was
“The internal components are situated between two panels of aluminosilicate glass, described by Apple as being “chemically strengthened to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic,” theoretically allowing it to be more scratch resistant and durable than the prior models”
the iPhone does use gorilla glass, but I don’t think the s3 does, I read somewhere that it uses a different glass but it’s from the same manufacturer(corning)
Scratch that it(the s3) uses gorilla glass 2
They don’t use it on the back which is dumb.
Good thing about the GS3 though is the whole back cover is plastic and you can remove it. So like the good old days just buy a new cover for a tenner if it gets scratched and it’s easy to fit.
Apple love making it hard for the consumer though because they don’t care about them, just want you to bring it in and get charged a fortune.
$29 is barely a fortune…

And of course it would be highly cynical to assume that the copy of Wired in the boot of the car, covered but still recognizable, was just there to add a little subliminal legitimacy to the proceedings.
I’m more impressed by the tape being able to hold the phones on.
I think we should all just take a second and applaud Jeff for his amazing work there (even if he is a little bit of a maniac).
My god that guy got out of breath easily..
Call me a fanboy, but wouldn’t this be more of a test of how much better gorilla glass 2 is from it’s predecessor?
Yes, 1 vs 2. We will see how the iPhone 5 fairs against the S3. That would be a fairer comparison.
*cringe* I hate watching devices getting broked
Please note that this is a marketing exercise by Samsung. A whois trace reveals these people are employed by Samsung. As such? Hogwash, bull… And still posted?
Has nobody noticed that he didn’t put the battery in the S3? Without that it would weigh a LOT less so you’d expect less damage from this kind of test. I smell bias!
