Really it was only a matter of time, but this was still surprisingly fast. What you see above is the iOS 5.1 version of Google Maps running—albeit a little jankily—in iOS 6. The porting was done by one Ryan Petrich, who says the port is working pretty well, but isn’t quite ready for release to the public yet. Yet.
As with all good things, the iOS 6 version of Google Maps will require a jailbreak, but it’s not like someone hasn’t already managed to jailbreak the iPhone 5, so that’s not too big of a deal.
