A lot of iPhone and iPad users who updated to iOS 6 have been reporting that the latest and greatest software update from Cupertino has screwed their iPhone and iPad’s Wi-Fi connection. As in, they can’t connect. Is this happening to you?
Specifically, once users have updated their iOS devices to iOS 6, Wi-Fi can’t stay connected on the devices and Safari kicks them to the page above. Yeah, a ‘Page Not Found’ web page on Apple.com. Weird. My iPad isn’t having any problems so this Wi-Fi bug may not be affecting everyone and a few people have reported that the issue automagically resolved itself, but it’s definitely been affecting more folks than a minor bug.
As for potential solutions? A MacRumors forum user suggest this, which seems to have fixed a few broken iOS 6 wi-fi issues:
Settings>Wi-Fi>(“Your Network”)> [the blue circle arrow icon]
Scroll to bottom of screen and set HTTP Proxy to Auto

No problems for me.
Plus, the whole wifi-plus-cellular thing has sorted the irritating problem of using the likes of iMessage in train stations where my phone connects to wifi that needs a login page.
Apple: It Just Works.
Once you’ve configured it properly following a botched update.

Nothing wrong here
& WTF is this go compare advert about!? a cat just shot lasers out of its eyes and burned the Go Compare guys mustache of and killed him, then winked at me… HAHA, or am I just tired?
LSD is a helluva drug..
It surely is.

Hmmmm, does IO6 require you to connect to the web via Apple’s own proxy servers first time you install it maybe… just a thought. Not sure how they would do it though without being busted.
IO6 has no offering for me, so it won’t be going anywhere near my two iphones. Besides, i’ve only just upgraded to 5.1.1
JailBroken?
Too right they’re JB’d. SBSettings is my main incentive to do so. Plus the uTorrent remote and iFile app. Those are enough to make me feel free of Apple’s constraints.
All installed, no issues whatsoever!
It just works? Yeah, right.
Glad I didn’t decide to upgrade my iPod Touch yesterday.
Nope, all works swimmingly here. Both home and work wifi working just peachy.
iPad worked fine last night, iPhone downloaded overnight, no issues so far…
What? Apple released a new ios that made our devices worse? Now there’s a surprise. This is why I’m not downgrading my phone to a new IOS again. IOS5 made my 4 much slower and glitchy and I won’t be wrecking it any further with this.
No problems here
No issues on my iPad or iPhone, everything works as it’s supposed to
Try moving passbook to a folder and watch as your phone reboots. Great update Apple, great. Most of the good new features don’t work on the iPhone4 because they want us to buy a newer model and yet the features that do work, reboot the phone. Excellent.
