This is so bad my brain just stopped. The worst part of it is is that it’s been italicised, so someone has paid a bit more attention to the word in question, and seen nothing wrong.
This kind of thing happens to my writing quite a bit because I’ll write something and then reword it a couple of times without deleting some of the previous sentence, I suspect that’s what happened here.
