If your road has turned into a river and your car is upside-down and blocking a bridge half a mile down the road thanks to the latest bizarre weather to hit the UK, there's still a way to travel -- surf those roads.
A YouTube video, titled Castleford street surfing, shows the ill-advised health and safety nightmare in progress, with experienced wave rider Oli Barrett flying down flood-hit local roads on a board while being towed by his mate in a 4x4.
"Me and a friend put a rope on the car and went for it. We didn’t think it would work but it worked like a dream," said Oli, while the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the stunt was a warning that people ought to be a bit more careful. [YouTube via Metro]
