You wield an iPhone, but you’ve been longing for Android ever since slapping eyes on Ice Cream Sandwich. In fact, you’d have switched if it wasn’t for that blasted app lock-in we’re all suffering from these days. Fear not, Google to the rescue! Pretend your iPhone is an Android, with the help of the updated Gmail app, which can now open things directly in Chrome — screw that blasted mobile Safari.
Google’s updated the Gmail app so that it, like the Google+ app before it, can open links directly in Chrome for iOS without having to go through mobile Safari (or jailbreaking). If you only use Gmail, Google+, and Chrome, you’ll barely even notice you’re using an iPhone, honest. [iTunes via The Next Web]

Google: Android Started Before iPhone, So There
So not like having Android on your iPhone at all then? Awesome, nice photo shop job to mislead people.
Could be the Goophone

Thanks, that’s some of my finest work.
Move along people!
According to Apple, if you want android on an iPhone, just get the 2 year old Galaxy S or the mid-low end Galaxy Ace.
Zing!
Does that mean I can start telling people I have an iPhone?
I would be surprised if you weren’t
Took me a while but I just realised that it would be nice if cyanogenmod or others would port JB to the iPhone.
God, can you imagine that. It’d have Steve Jobs turning in his grave.
I think he’d actually rise from the dead to stop such a thing happening.
Zombie Steve Jobs would have to feast off of Android users as iPhone users have no braaaains
Badum-tish!
Unlikely I’m afraid due to the closed source nature of the iPhone. It makes the driver layer almost impossible to work out.
The only JB an iPhone should have is JailBreak…
Unfortunately it is the only way iPhone users can get a hint of what is like to have Android’s freedom.
“you’ll barely even notice you’re using an iPhone” apart from when you try to see things on the ‘Game & watch’ sized screen.
The fact I you don’t see so much hate in Android articles, simply reassures me that a lot of people are just jealous they don’t have an iPhone. Continue to hate, by all means, I’ll just enjoy my superior phone and sit quietly.
You know, I don’t think anyone here really hates the iPhone (it’s only a smartphone at the end of the day), just all the bullshit surrounding it……
People often hate what they can’t have..
People in here are confused. Its the Android lot that try and copy ios not the other way round..
And that cool notifications bar added on iOS 5, which you can open by sliding you finger from the top of the screen down. Was that copie by android Gingerbread?
Yeah, everybody just copy apple and the inverse never happens…
