This sure is awesome, well, if you’re a Microsoft employee anyway. It looks like, if you’re the proud owner of a Microsoft employee ID card, you’ll be getting a free Surface RT tablet for use at work and home, courtesy of your crazy CEO, Steve Ballmer, himself.
But wait, there’s more, as you’ll also be getting a brand-spanking new Windows 8 Phone for work and home too! Now, now, this isn’t just some freebies to those in the office. This is on quite a large scale, as Microsoft employ over 94,000 people worldwide. That’s a heck of a lot of free devices. So, where do I send my CV to? [Geekwire]

How do you like them apples Apple?!
So this means they are going to stick another £100 on each one to make up these costs.
This has always worried me about such give-aways, do they actually count as sales? After all Microsoft and Google are both well known for giving kit to developers (whereas Apple doesn’t – which must help their profits).
I don’t think MS have released sales figures for Windows Phone in the past so I don’t think it’s much of a problem..
surely you would expect them to want to boast about the amazing progress they’ve made, especially now they’re bigger than Bada (allegedly)
I think they are waiting until they officially overtake Blackberry before showing off too much..
Does this apply if you’re a Microsoft certified engineer as well?
Well I know Flynndean’s been fondling them, but then, he’ll fondle anything.
Where has that man been hiding?
The ladies’.
do you mean he’s been hiding in the ladies toilets or just in the ladies?
Or both?!
Note the possessive apostrophe…
Damn that possessive apostrophe, he told me he was going to get therapy for his overcontrolling ways, he won’t let me go out or see my friends or anything.
He is available most nights on the G+ messenger chat, but you unfortunately have an unsupported patform, so you’ll just have to wait till Google gets round to you.
I didn’t know G+ messenger didn’t work on the iPhone, or is it Windows?
dirtymagic86 is one of the 1%, by which I mean WP users rather than rich people.
I am surprised that Google is taking this long.
Probably waiting for WP8, after all skype doesn’t even work properly on WP7 and microsoft own that, so features like notification and hangouts might be a problem.
Google really doesn’t like Windows Phone for some reason..
Many Microsoft MVP’s will get freebies too, generous company if you get on their radar.
WANT
Makes sense, if there are 94,000 Microsoft employees with 94,000 Surface Tablets out, then more people will see them and then go “ooh i might buy that”
You cant say every iPad was sold based on what Apple has on its website…
