Motorola announced a collection of new Android phones for the US last night, although it was rather light on details of launches elsewhere in the world. But we may see the Droid M here, at least, with a new chipset inside.
According to Pocket-Lint, the Droid M will hit the UK later this year, although it’ll lose its current 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor in favour of an Intel chipset. That’s something of a surprise given how impressive the Qualcomm S4 is, as the current Intel chips don’t offer anything like the same levels of performance as the dual-core S4.
The form factor of the phone will stay the same, though, meaning we’ll see the phone’s 4.3″ Super AMOLED display inside that curved chassis, along with the same Kevlar casing we saw protecting Motorola’s first Android Razr last year. [Pocket-Lint]

Didn’t Orange release an Intel phone a while ago? The San Diego or something? Did anyone here actually buy one? Be interesting to see what it was like..

Can someone inform them that a large amount of the apps in the Play Store don’t work on X86…
Will it make it any cheaper?
Switiching out the Snapdragon for the Intel, as long as the price / performance ratio reflects this they’ll sell.
Initialy looked a decent phone as an alternative to 4.5IN + screens, its a little tarnished now with this news.
