Fans of Apple’s own generational iPhone docks may be disappointed to learn that no such accessory will be manufactured for the iPhone 5.
In an email obtained by 9 to 5 Mac, Schiller answers a devoted dock-user’s question thusly:

We do not plan on making a dock for the iPhone 5. Most people who use docks use them with speaker or clock systems.

Ah thats a shame I liked the docks, still using the original iPhone dock with my 4s.
And queue the Apple bashing….
What? Why the fuck would people bash over the fact Apple aren’t making a dock, it’s not like they need too considering the huge number of docks from third parties that are undoubtedly currently in production.
I’m not a fan of the doc… Can manage just fine without it.
I think ‘Sent from my iPhone 5′ falls under:
“Don’t ever, ever, ever refer to it as your ‘iPhone 5′″
there should be a caveat in there that adds ‘unless you’re paid to’
I still think the last sentence of that section still applies..

That seems a curious attitude to take.
Ah, but wait a minute. If they were making a Lightning-port dock, surely they’d want to make it compatible with all the devices that are going to be using the lightning port. And if they still had to announce a soon-to-be-forthcoming Lightning-packing device (ahem – http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/tag/ipad+mini/ ), it’s possible that they’d wait until that was out before giving the dock an outing.
If i sat at the same desk day after day, i think i’d certainly want one, but i dont, i travel between 7 locations and dont need another DooDad to cary around with all my other gubbins, especially when all i need is a cable. Though if i get a 5 i will want to be getting 2 or 3 cables, one in my laptop bag, one in the car, one at home. And on a side note, i have just discovered that i can pretty much touch type! no lessons, just years of typing, how weird is that? Cool!
And you can also use the mouse in your left hand too!

Well that’s disappointing! I have always had the docks for previous iPhones—one at work and one at home.
Has anyone come across any third-party docks as yet?
