Ford’s stuffing its existing Ford SYNC and MyFord Touch features and an 8″ touchscreen into its gadget-packed next-gen Mondeo, also adding built-in Wi-Fi hotspot support to help amuse passengers on those long trips to Tesco.
The updated car, revealed by the maker yesterday, is also the first Ford to feature LED headlights, that turn with your steering and adapt the beam projection depending on your speed. And there will be a battery-powered option as well, with Ford preparing a hybrid model that combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with a 35kW lithium-ion battery.

So when Ford sold Aston Martin they conveniently kept a copy of all the exterior designs….
It immediately reminded me of the “wide-mouthed-frog” hideousness of the old Scorpio

Ha that can’t be a bad thing for Ford!
As long as it’s not cheaply painted ‘silver’ plastic on the inside, that’s all that matters tbh.
I see what you mean but I think that is a bit unfair on Ford when you think that it was actually Ford’s team that helped design Aston Martins for well over 10 years during its modern revamp. When AM was sold, the new owners opted not to keep a lot of that design team who went back into PAG and then when Ford disbanded PAG with the sale of JLR those designers were split with some staying at JLR and some moving back to Ford. They are therefore using a lot of their own design with PAG influences rather than the other way around.
Isn’t a touchscreen a bad idea in a car? Without textured buttons, knobs, dials, etc you have to take your eyes off the road to see where to press on the screen.
Completely agree, been saying that for years. Should be limited to things like the SatNav.
Was wondering what company car to switch to and think I have an answer now. A wi-fi reliant family makes this a good option – and the likeness to an Aston helps! Will just have to regard myself as James Bond if he worked for local government!
