Are you stoked by the thought of a Steam box? Good news — Valve’s hardware division is coming along swimmingly, and it will have products “tied to Steam” for people to try out very soon. Come the start of next year, Valve wants to get them into your hands for a full-on public beta test. If that doesn’t sound like a Steam box, I don’t know what does.
We don’t know for sure what hardware Valve wants us to test, but we know it’s not the freaky gaming goggles, unfortunately, as they’re “two-to-five years” off. Boo, where’s my crazy, wearable gaming rig to take me actually into the games? At least we’ve got Microsoft cooking up a holodeck to look forward to. [Engadget]
