Twitter is now letting you add a header photo to your profile — it’s a lovely new feature that seems like it draws a little inspiration from the large banner photo you get with Facebook Timeline.
All three Twitter mobile apps—iPhone, iPad, and Android—support the header photo. All three apps have been updated. iPhone and Android now include something called a photo stream, so if you just want to swipe through someone’s pictures, you can click through. Twitter for iPad is new too—now it has in-line expansion for photos and videos. These updates feel a little similar to those other Twitter clients you know and love, but considering the way Twitter has been treating those third-parties, it’s no surprise they’re updating their own apps with these things.

You’re absolutely right, my twitter profile DOES look like my Facebook timeline – NON EXISTENT.
Nice one Darrell
I don’t believe in Twatter, it’s Facebook statuses constantly live and in your ear/face/phone.
It makes you have Tourette’s Syndrome when you see someone post a random non-sequitur into a status.
“I just this awesome cheese in a burger.”
Me: Oh fuck off!
Sounds like your friends are idiots. That’s not the fault of Twitter
Most people have friends whom are idiots. That’s everybody’s fault!
You do realise you don’t HAVE to follow everyone….?
I even turn that off and I still get a load of crap LOL
Still waiting for a TweetDeck update…
never going to happen.
Yet still it’s better than the main client for handling multiple accounts….
Not hard, poking your eyes out with rusty kebab skewers is better than the official app.
The only reason I use the official app is to upload pics. The rest is done through TweetDeck.
If you’re on Android have you tried Twicca? That’s my current favourite Twitter app, and it has really good support for viewing photos outside of the app.
Tried it for the past few hours and I still can’t like it – I want the uncluttered columns that allow me to switch between lists, accounts, feeds, etc… and I there’s too much wasted space between tweets.
Fair enough. It’s the only one I’ve found that really suits me, even though it does feel a little half-built.
I think that’s because technically it’s still in alpha release.
I’ve not been on twitter for a while, i have spurts of tweeting celebs and them not responding and me getting upset and tracking them down and stalking them and sending them dried frogs and plaster casts of obscure objects such as shoe Horns and Apple Corers and having court cases and me stopping for a while then creating new accounts under false names who i create histories and backgrounds for and who become fully fledged personalities and i have to go to the hospital till the voices in my head stop and then i remember about twitter and then start tweeting celebs and they dont respond so it all starts again.
But yeah, twitter has been trying to change to be more like FaceBook for ages, it wont be long before the USP of 140 characters is dropped and then it’ll just be the same.
John Bird never responds, nor Tom Watt.
I’d love to see a case where Google Plus sues Twitter in the case of “We copied it from Facebook first!” XD
