There’s nothing quite as entertaining as the ongoing battle between Apple and Samsung over who has stolen whose ideas for what constitutes a great smartphone. Well, unless you count a 1972 episode of Emmerdale Farm where Jethro falls off a barn roof. Oh, and a billion other things.
But, unlike Jethro, Samsung is getting a foothold these days, and its Galaxy S III handset has given the iPhone a run for its money. If you’ve been toying with getting one, you might be keen to learn that an unlocked one will only cost you £399. Get a cheap SIM-only deal to go with it and you’re looking at a tasty phone at a cheap price. If only Jethro had owned a mobile in 1972, they wouldn’t have had to put him down after he fell off that roof…

That’s an interesting definition of “cheap” you have there
Agreed. £400 is still quite a lot of money for a telephone.
Cheap is a relative term. Relative to other high end smartphones (~£500) it’s not bad.
If we’re keeping our terms relative we can only compare this price to the prices of other smart phones that have been on the market for as long as the GS3. If we are comparing to say, the iPhone5 price or other newer phones, then relativity is out the window.
Relative, yes, I agree, but 80% of the cost of other high end smartphones is still not ‘cheap’.
Few would pay that money for a telephone, but I reckon they would pay it for a smartphone.
Telephone: an apparatus, system, or process for transmission of sound or speech to a distant point, especially by an electric device.
Smartphone: a device that combines a mobile phone with a hand-held computer, typically offering Internet access, data storage, e-mail capability, etc.
Cheap is a relative term, not an absolute one.

Is there an echo in here? In here….in here…. Thanks so much for explaining the obvious to us, guys.
ECHO.. Echo.. echo..
I wanna play play play
I don’t believe we were explaining anything to you, we were responding in a quite reasonable fashion to The_Alpha_Gamer’s post.
sounds like klinkenberg just got whipped by DJ
I don’t partake in DJ’s fetish interests. With a username like yours perhaps you are a better man for the job. Aww bless, I love match-making
Really? My user name has nothing close to being whipped by DJ…but why explain when you are so touchy !
I was responding with agreement to a post made by someone else. You responded to the agreed view we both had, therefore I used the word “us”. I knew the term cheap was used in the context of being relative to the cost of other similar devices, as would anyone reading this article. Therefore your response was pointed out something obvious, and didn’t contribute anything valuable to the discussion. Hence my somewhat cheeky reply. Have a good day.
Correction: “your response pointed out”.
