BBC iPlayer Content Now Playing Nicely With Sky+ Boxes

By Gary Cutlack on at

BBC's iPlayer content is now available in homes running one of satellite broadcaster Sky's Sky+ boxes, with Sky claiming around 6.7million households can now catch up on the latest miserable events in EastEnders through their Sky boxes.

The Sky+ iPlayer content is accessed through the box's usual on-demand content menu rather than through anything as clever as a standalone app, where the BBC's material will sit alongside Sky's own stuff and the streaming content it already pulls in from the rest of the terrestrial networks' catch-up services.

Sky says it'll be completing the catch-up jigsaw early next year, when Channel 4's 4oD content will also become available on Sky+. [Sky]
