French Euromillions Site Hacked and Lottery Branded "Devil's Work" in Religious Attack

The French Euromillions site has been unreachable for most of the weekend, after hackers attacked it and replaced it with some anti-gambling messages and quotes from the Koran.

A hacking team which calls itself Morrocanghosts claimed responsibility for cracking the site's server, replacing the home page with passages from the Koran in French and Arabic, describing gambling as the "Devil's Work" and warning users to stop doing the lottery and drinking alcohol.

"Oh you believers. Wine, games of chance, statues all augur impurity and are the work of the devil" was one part of the hacker's message to the corrupted people of France. The defaced Euromillions page has been taken offline, with the site currently redirecting to owner FDJ's generic web portal instead. [BBC]
