ThinkGeek’s adorable iCade is genius. It turns your iPad into a little arcade! Asteroids forever! If it has a drawback, it’s that, well, it kind of destroys the iPad’s portability. Meet the Bluetooth Duo Gamer controller, which sheds the cabinet for a dock that’ll fit in your backpack.
The Duo Gamer looks familiar, like a 6-button controller you use with some consoles. What sets it apart from other mobile controllers, the iCade (Atari’s joystick arcade) is its flexibility. The Duo Gamer can be used as a handheld controller, yes, but thanks to its cartoonishly large proportions you can set it down on a surface and use it arcade style. In addition to working with the iPad, it will also work with your iPhone or iPod Touch. (It plugs into the 30-pin dock, so you’ll need Apple’s adapter to use it with your iPhone 5.)

Apple really needs to make an API for a game controller
They really do.
Our best hope is that they announce one to go hand-in-hand with an app store for Apple TV, in a bid to gazump Ouya.
Or Apple will release a propriety game controller and charge you 3/4 the price of a new iPad for it..
Apple are generally not too bad at leaving the market open for thirdparty accessories.
Still, there would have to be an official controller, and official controllers tend to be expensive…

Still, there would have to be an official controller, and official controllers tend to be expensive. Both MS and Sony joypads are officially £40 each (£30 or under for savvy shoppers), and Apple’s Bluetooth keyboard is £57.

Android supports bluetooth and usb controllers since ICS – No rooting required.

I’m not part of it btw, just a backer! Great bunch of guys, experience in the market and the product itself looks brilliant! AND it’ll work with any bluetooth gaming phone/device!
