So much for fun new Android goodness next Monday, October 29th. Google’s big event in New York City as been cancelled (perhaps rightly so) due to the incoming frankenstorm Hurricane Sandy.
The event, which was all but certainly going to involve the announcement of the new Nexus 4, a Nexus 10 tablet, and a new models of the Nexus 7, was originally in an area that is now an evacuation zone. Microsoft’s dueling Windows Phone 8 event, on the other side of the country in San Francisco, now gets the opportunity to proceed with 100 percent of the day’s spotlight. No word yet on when the Android event may be rescheduled.

Personally I’d really like to meet Taf. He tries really hard to be my opposite number and has provided me with a great deal of entertainment over the last year or so. Not sure if he is London local though so don’t know if he can make the next Giz meetup assuming they get round to having one. Maybe Giz could arrange something like the US presidential debates with me and Taf discussing the merits of our chosen platforms.

On another note, I was hoping to hear about the Nexus 7 32gb and it actually go on sale.
It already has in some PC Worlds (although I’m sure they weren’t supposed to). Looks to be just a memory bump and taking over of the 16gb’s price point at £199.99.
Cheers, yes its just a mem increase but I was holding off until something else came out, but for that price for 32gb you cant fault it.

Apple and perfect, I found out recently with my iPhone 5, it took 5 unboxings before I got one which was perfect…
But overall what apple devices deliver is superior to that of google, but each to his own…
