Google's Got a Fancy New Sliding Mobile Homepage For You

By Sam Gibbs on at

It seems sliding layers in from the sides is the new thing. Google's mobile apps do it, Facebook's apps do it, Spotify does it, hell, even Mountain Lion does it from the right. Now Google's mobile homepage at Google.com has a new slider bar, full of Google services.

Google+ gets a bit more prime real estate too, and that top bar ties up with the desktop experience neatly. It's currently not live on Google.co.uk, but if you hit the Google.com button at the bottom you'll be taken to the American frontpage where it's there for you to have a fiddle with.

Seems like an improvement to me, not that I actually ever go to the mobile homepage anymore, what with the omnibox or the Google search box built directly into most browsers. [Google.com via the Android Soul via TNW]
