Microsoft's UK store has just added prices for the Surface RT, the company's self-made, keyboard-covered Windows 8 tablet, which is available for preorder today, starting at £399 for a 32GB.

That pricing puts the entry-level Surface at the same price of a retina display iPad, though if you add on that fancy keyboard cover, expect to stump up a further £80. The 64GB model will cost £559 with the black touch cover. Both will be in stores — or in your mailbox, if you preorder — on October 30th (shipping from October 26th).

While Microsoft has until this point been guarded about price, it's also insisted that Surface will be competitive with what's out there. [The Verge]
