Looks like Microsoft's got some pain coming its way from the EC again. The European Commission has officially given notice that Microsoft broke antitrust laws, by not fully complying with its browser choice commitments in Windows 7. It's going to get a fine for sure, but how much? I suspect it'll be pretty hefty, this time round.
Of course, Microsoft knew precisely what it was doing, and no doubt Windows 8 falls foul of the same thing too. I don't know about you, but I reckon it's no longer necessary to do the whole browser ballot thing. It was confusing enough in the first place, and those that are ever likely to change their browser, will do it regardless of what Microsoft does -- Google Chrome anyone? [Europa]
