Here’s a brief note intended for the fanboys who ruin technology for everyone else: Look, your war doesn’t make any sense, ok? This whole fanboys vs fandroids thing, the iPhone vs Galaxy, the iPad vs Kindle Fire… who the hell cares? They’re just machines.
And companies are not your friends. They are not here to make you happy. They won’t laugh with you at dinner. They won’t kiss you goodnight. They are just big corporations who want your money.
Corporations waging war upon each other and using you as peons to gain market domination.
Corporations who use underpaid worker drones living inside city-size factories far away to produce toys for you to buy, new shiny pieces of plastic and metal marginally better than the old plastic and metal crap.
And not only are you zombie brand worshipers buying into this whole vain spec race, but you’re also insulting and belittling everyone who doesn’t agree with your choice of phone or tablet or computer. Doing it safely behind a screen because, if you did that right on the face of someone, he or she would punch your face.
So, can you stop “defending” your choice of gadgetry like a insecure whiny cheerleader? Or a crazy religious fanatic? Don’t you see how ridiculous you look to normal people who don’t give a damn? How absurd your concerns are compared to, I don’t know, real life?
Or, if you have to justify your choice, could you at least please just think twice before insulting one another?
Because you just look bad when you do that. A tool. Just pick whatever you like best and stop trying to convince everyone that you made the right decision and that they are wrong. They are not. Nobody is. No more than you, anyway.
Carry on.

These New Spinning GIFs Are as Cool as the Original Ones
This is very true these companies dont sell these machines for a high price out of the goodness of their hearts. They are all making money off of us and laughing all the way to the bank. they probably do get some satisfaction from the ongoing fan battles but its also possible that they dont care so long as there profits dont fall.
Let’s get this right…
This article has been written to just do what it’s saying people shouldn’t! Troll, have a battle of platforms, slag each other off… In Mr Diaz knows this to be true, I guess it’s all about generating traffic.
And for the record anything I say on here I would gladly say face to face! My opinions are what they are and I will always speak my mind!
Speaking as an adult who can rise above such things I find it quite amusing.
I have to agree with you there, being lectured by Mr Diaz on fanboy flaming is like being lectured by Pol pot on human rights abuses. This is a man who has frequently posted untrue things (largely about android in the past, but these days he’s an equal opportunities troll) for the purpose of getting Pagehits and that is exactly what he is doing now
Wait, you and taf are actually agreeing on something :O!?
Yes, it happens occasionally. It’s no bid deal.
I disagree
With what? that it happens occasionally or that it’s no big deal? Both are true.
Haha @ Equal oppertunitys troll!
Are you into batting for both sides… Haha
I will fight injustice wherever I find it
“They are not here to make you happy”
Really? Please, how many Mac owners are not happy? Shiny boxes sold by huge ‘corporations’ of course generates them a lot of money, but are you that ignorant to see that Apple do more than overcharge you for something that is worth them doing so? Haven’t you realised yet the relationship Apple product owners have with their devices? They sell a life-long experience, not a less expensive object for which you will be disappointed by later down the road. (customer service for one, is a human relationship you essentially buy when paying the premium for Apple devices)
I’m so so happy that not everyone likes Apple. I’m pleased for those who love other companies, but seriously, even non-apple users experience some degree of happiness with their gadget. They are the objects of todays world that we connect ourselves to because society is too messed up to have ‘real life’. I’m not saying you should have a relationship with your iPhone instead of a lover, but you’ll see more messed up things with humans, causing more upset that with companies. (And gadgets do not rule, mother earth does!)
Taf, you have got it 100% correct. Is Gizmodo stale that they need to generate another war? If anything, it’s these tech blogs that create the war, not the individual, therefor society is messed up because of the media!
At least this article tried to address the issue in a correct manner…

f**k Android
*giggles like a little child*
I’m sure the Wabbit would flatten that Duck..
I would if I could
I find this a very ironic article, given its author.
Difference between Apple and Android users is people using Android will go wherever the best experience is and Apple users either bum Apple or just but whatever has the most marketing.
Currently Android is best and it offers the best hardware… simple really.
If Apple decided to release carious models and opened up their OS tomoz then I’d look into their devices… sadly they want to lock their os like Microsoft seem to want to do these days as that isn’t the way to go.
The PC platform hasn’t become successful as it has today by being closed. Infact no closed OS has been popular….. The iPhone isn’t a major hit in the scheme of things, just mostly fanbois buying it and the fact Apple has marketing on their side.
My Mother wanted an iPad as a Laptop replacement and after I got her one she quickly realised it wasn’t and now she barely uses her iPad lol. I find it quite funny really because she gets on it and becomes frustrated over what she cannot do on it and boots up her Laptop. These aren’t even limitations by the hardware, just Apple not allows stuff like direct file access, no external storage or Flash Player etc etc.
Sounds like she just didn’t want a tablet and got given some bad advice to me.
being a relative newbie to gizmodo, I would like to add my opinion to articles written by Jesus up there.
I am yet to read an article that doesn’t wreak of condescension, vanity or hypocrisy.
anyone remember when he had a rant about using a cover on your phone implying that you were a complete disk head if you did, defending his reason for not having one, yet other people defend their reason for choice of tech etc.. and he goes all thermonuclear war on them.
Now he is taking the moral high ground about ‘underpaid worker drones’, yet he owns Apple products (am not saying the other manufacturers are any better, just pointing out his hypocrisy.
I also notice that he tries to be controversial, but due to the above flaws I mentioned, it doesn’t work, Jeremy Clarkson can be controversial, and knows how to do it right, maybe Jesus needs to watch more UK top gear.
I don’t want to point out the obvious here, (sit down folks here comes the biggy, prepare yourselves)…………but this is a tech blog.
and for as long as i can remember there has always been tech wars whether it was Atari/Amiga PS3/Xbox,, each has had their fans.
Can you imagine if all our posts were like the following:
Poster 1, wow that gadget is amazing its better than that other gadget.
Poster 2. yes i agree.
Poster 1, And its design is done in a well thought out manner with logical design.
Poster 2. yes i agree.
Poster 1, the operating systems are different to each other.
Poster 2. yes i agree.
how dull would this site be? how good would the page hits be?
would Gizmodo earn money?
the fact that there is so much controversy in the tech world is good for blogs and sites, it gives the page views and user feedback and content.
Now by Jesus asking for this to stop, and implying that we are all dickheads for holding our own opinions about tech because there are more important things in life such as these poor ‘underpaid worker drones’
is probably the most hypocritical thing he has done so far, because as a writer, user and reviewer of said tech, he himself is an active part of the problem, moreso than us end users, and if he felt so morally strong about this, then maybe he should fall on his own sword, quit his writing, sell all his precious Apple products, go over to China and fight for the rights of the poor ‘underpaid worker drones’.
And truthfully non of us really care that much about ‘underpaid worker drones’ really. Because if we did, we wouldn’t buy the phones.
So I put it to you my learned friends, that Jesus is condescending, hypocritical, self promoting, and hypocritical(I had to put that twice to emphasise the point), and his posts do not belong on Giz UK
side note for Mr Jesus (and i hope that calling him Mr Jesus sounds as condescending as it does in my head).
we may all argue and disagree about the tech we like or don’t like, and posts may get heated, but most of us are grown ups and don’t hold grudges, or hate the other person because they hold a different opinion, most of it is banter, and its how people bond, we don’t do the lovey dovey bits (unless we need to get laid), we take the piss and that encourages discussion. I agree if it gets personal then some people are emotionally over attached to a product, but that doesn’t happen as often as you seem to imply. And if it does, most of us realise that this is the internet where things can be said from behind the safety of a keyboard, and those angry words are just one of the little piggies huffing and puffing.
OK Rant Over, I feel Better now
Awww, he’s alright.
The apple vs android fanboy wars in one jpeg: http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1368/987251565_22ea2338dd.jpg
You’re a pointless skin-waste if you’ve been behaving like a virulent fanboy, favoring an operating system or piece of technology with poisonous vitriol.
None of it matters.
Pretty much my feelings on it.
Mr. Jesus Diaz is a particularly incompetent information manipulator…
Having been informed that Mr Jesus doesn’t read posts here, i have posted this over on the US site.
But i for ont think that if a post appears here, then the writer of that post should at least monitor it for the first day or two, to answer any questions regarding their post, after all, this is more than just a news site, it is designed to be interactive with reader input
