Most marketing stunts are just plain annoying, but every once in a while one comes along that doesn’t make you completely hate the company behind it. Such is the case with this cross-promotion for Coke Zero and the new James Bond movie, Skyfall, which turned unsuspecting travelers into James Bond for one very exciting minute.
When attempting to buy a Coke from a machine at a train station in London, random citizens were offered the chance to win tickets to a screening of Skyfall. Except they had to earn them, by racing across the station to a specific platform in just 70 seconds, all the while dodging actors employed to trip them up along the way. The results are amusing, but wouldn’t a real double-o spy just have blasted their way through with Walther PPK? [YouTube via AintItCoolNews]

love advertising stunts like this
fantastic idea, especially with musicians along the way, must’ve really made them get in the swing of things.
Is the last paragraph of this referring to what’s happening in the video? If so, it’s incorrect. The video was filmed in Antwerp Central station in Belgium. (It may have also happened in London, I highly doubt it though, too much potential for injury and everything else).
I don’t think the people were just random. The H&S lawyers would have a field day with the repeated attempts to trip them up. Still an awesome stunt though.
Haha that was awesome!
I’VE MISSED MY TRAIN!
Yep, because that’s exactly what a central LDN train station needs; some Hoxtonite k**bheads, beatboxing like cretins and getting in everybody’s way.
And I’ve just read “Moving”s comment above; I’m a doof.
