Yes! B.org Is Finally Available

By Gary Cutlack on at

The Public Interest Registry, which is another one of those unfortunate organisations tasked with looking after domain names, has released a collection of super-rare .org domain addresses, with options like 1.org, 2.org and b.org now available.

There are 94 single character and very short domain names now up for offer, although there's a bit of a catch. Potential buyers have to prove they deserve the names and intend on using them in honourable ways, so you probably wouldn't be allowed to buy b.org and turn it into a photo gallery of Star Trek actress Jeri Ryan.

Proceeds from the sale of the domains, which have been held in stasis for 26 years, will go toward helping non-commercial organisations boost their web presence. [Project 94 via VentureBeat]
