It looks like Anonymous followed up with its threat of digitally attacking Israel for taking military action in the Gaza strip. They’ve knocked down websites, deleted databases and have leaked e-mail addresses and passwords. It’s a whopping takedown.
The targets taken down include the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs database and Bank of Jerusalem database, which have both been deleted. On top of that, Anon also took down over 600 sites with DDoS attacks and pasted over 2000 email addresses and passwords. Pretty rough.
dude
Here’s a statement from Anonymous explaining why they attacked Israel:
Greetings World
For far too long, Anonymous has stood by with the rest of the world and watched in despair the barbaric, brutal and despicable treatment of the Palestinian people in the so called “Occupied Territories” by the Israel Defense Force. Like so many around the globe, we have felt helpless in the face of such implacable evil. And today’s insane attack and threatened invasion of Gaza was more of the same.
But when the government of Israel publicly threatened to sever all Internet and other telecommunications into and out of Gaza they crossed a line in the sand. As the former dictator of Egypt Mubarack learned the hard way – we are ANONYMOUS and NO ONE shuts down the Internet on our watch. To the IDF and government of Israel we issue you this warning only once. Do NOT shut down the Internet into the “Occupied Territories”, and cease and desist from your terror upon the innocent people of Palestine or you will know the full and unbridled wrath of Anonymous. And like all the other evil governments that have faced our rage, you will NOT survive it unscathed.
To the people of Gaza and the “Occupied Territories”, know that Anonymous stands with you in this fight. We will do everything in our power to hinder the evil forces of the IDF arrayed against you. We will use all our resources to make certain you stay connected to the Internet and remain able to transmit your experiences to the world. As a start, we have put together the Anonymous Gaza Care Package – http://bit.ly/XH87C5 – which contains instructions in Arabic and English that can aid you in the event the Israel government makes good on it’s threat to attempt to sever your Internet connection. It also contains useful information on evading IDF surveillance, and some basic first aid and other useful information. We will continue to expand and improve this document in the coming days, and we will transmit it to you by every means at our disposal. We encourage you to download this package, and to share it with your fellow Palestinians to the best of your ability.
We will be with you. No matter how dark it may seem, no matter how alone and abandoned you may feel – know that tens of thousands of us in Anonymous are with you and working tirelessly around the clock to bring you every aid and assistance that we can.
We Are Anonymous
We Are Everywhere
We Are Legion
We Do Not Forgive
We Do Not Forget
To the oppressors of the innocent Palestinian people, it is too late to EXPECT US

To think that’s all Hitler had to do to destroy the Jews. He must feel so silly.
Can some bright spark do up a Downfall clip for this please?
+1 for downfall clip
Yeh but Jews are like rats, all it takes is one to get on a boat to escape and then breed.
WTF mate?! I hope I’m missing something here…
That’s just people in general.
agree with you on that but Scaramoosh you’re way too harsh, not cool at all.
I hope he’s just joking…
I can’t believe you just said that. Least we know where you’re coming from in the future.
This is too awesome
How is any of this conflict at all “awesome”?
I’m finding it all very depressing. Two military forces rubbing up too close to each other, and who takes the brunt of the damage? Innocent civilians.
The only side I can see worth taking is that of the civilians. All this death isn’t helping anyone, just causing more animosity in the long run.
Anyone can say “We’re the victims, it’s not our fault, let’s attack them!”. It takes real courage to try and actually peacefully sort this out rather than both sides blowing each other to smithereens.
You seem to forget that there are a lot of stupid people and stupid people think conflicts like this are one-sided with one aggressor and one victim. All it takes is for then both to grow up and stop but they won’t because the people fighting are also stupid.
P.s. all the death actually benefits us all by helping reduce the global population
You’ve been watching too much TV if you think anything about this conflict is entertaining, as I assume by the emoticons that’s what you meant.
Come back into the real world – innocent people on both sides are dying.
Depends on your perspective. Objectively, there’s probably too many of us. Empathically it’s a terrible situation, but objectively it might be a net gain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Security_Council_Resolution_242
There was much bickering over whether that resolution should say from “the” territories or from “all” territories. In the French version, which is equally authentic, it says withdrawal de territory, with de meaning “the.” We wanted that to be left a little vague and subject to future negotiation because we thought the Israeli border along the West Bank could be “rationalized”; certain anomalies could easily be straightened out with some exchanges of territory, making a more sensible border for all parties. We also wanted to leave open demilitarization measures in the Sinai and the Golan Heights and take a fresh look at the old city of Jerusalem. But we never contemplated any significant grant of territory to Israel as a result of the June 1967 war. On that point we and the Israelis to this day remain sharply divided. This situation could lead to real trouble in the future. Although every President since Harry Truman has committed the United States to the security and independence of Israel, I’m not aware of any commitment the United States has made to assist Israel in retaining territories seized in the Six-Day War.
One thing to remember is there is no equivalence in this conflict. As always, the chips are stacked heavily against the Palestinian people.
Anyway, Egypt have shown their hand so now we may have counter balance to the weight the USA puts behind Israel.
Obviously the best scenario would be for all violence to end. But I think what’s going to happen is the IDF will take Gaza and as before in 2008, they’ll murder a heck of a lot of people, women and children included, during this ground invasion.
Sorry this isn’t related but can anyone tell me how to upload an image that goes with my username? Cant for the life of me find the option in the profile settings. Thank you

thank you
In recent wars (before and now),it happens ‘coz one of the side knows they’ve clear advantage over the other (military, money, technology…).
When both sides are equal (or even if one side has nuclear), they unsurprisingly prefer talks.
So, the easiest solution to stop all such wars is to let all countries arm with nuclear.
Nice to see Anon have achieved the grand total of fuck all again. When will they get it into their thick skulls that their little online tantrums will not stop whats going on in the real world. I bet the people of Gaza are so pleased this bunch of keyboard warriors are sacrificing some of their bandwith to their cause.
I was pretty neutral on the war until a hamas spokesman said that targeting Israeli civilians is a justifiable and admirable thing to do.
Both side are in the wrong but Hamas aren’t doing themselves any favours by making such statements.
It’s what Britain did in WWII.
You could argue that the other side started it but so could the Palestinians.
Since the signing of the fourth Geneva convention, the practice of strategic total war that you’re referring to has been outlawed. Israel signed that treaty in 1951. As such, they do not target civilians as strategic assets. Such practices are now considered war crimes, however Israel’s record on collateral damage is appalling for a modern military. Their reckless use of white phosphorous in early 2009 is one example, there are many others.
However, the Al-Qassam Brigades target Isreali civilians on a regular basis, and they use Palestinian civilians as human shields. To them, this is acceptable practice. Rockets and suicide bombs are the usual methods of choice. The EU and the US consider them to be a terrorist organisation.
The article is incorrect on some points. The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs database that was attacked is actually a small branch of the ministry that deals with aiding third world countries… nice one fellas… and the rest are small attacks really, nothing as major as described above.
On the whole i find it hypocritical that when the Palestinians launched missiles at Israel for a while nobody cared (by the way, how come there is no commentary about the little Israeli baby that was injured from a missile attack?) but when Israel decides to retaliate it gives everyone something to talk about. I also find it sad, that momentarily everybody forgot about the Syrian struggle. What is it that draws so much hatred towards Israel, seriously I can’t quite understand that. by the way I honestly wish to witness the Israeli’s tech team response to Anonymous, that should be interesting.
Everybody is entitled to an opinion, but it usually seems to be one sided and unfair….
Considering the Mayan inspired alleged end of the world is supposed to occur on 21st December this year and the fact that Tel Megiddo in Israel is the site where Armageddon is supposed to happen and now Israel (a nuclear power) is getting involved in a conflict which ‘could’ inflame the whole Middle-East is anybody getting a bit scared?
Personally I’m not but at the same time I won;t book a summer holiday quite yet
Why not? What have you got to lose?
Israel is looking pretty cheap for next year. Nice beaches.
Beaches could be uncomfortable if they turned to Trinitite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinitite)
Hamas and Israel are just as bad as each other.
Speaking as someone who has been to Israel a bunch of times and who has family in Haifa and Tel Aviv, the only people suffering are the civilians caught in the middle of all this. It’s stupid for anyone to take sides.
Because the best way to combat serious immaturity, is with childishness.
I hope they both feel like big boys now.
