Mr Cutlack, you are a journalist. Whilst Giz UK isn’t that well known, you still have a duty to not misinform people and spread falsities.

Apple were never ordered to apologise to Samsung; it was an order to publicly state that they lost the case and that Samsung’s design did not infringe upon their patent. That’s all.

Now, I order you to rewrite this article and link it for 6 months on your homepage with a link at least 100 pixels high.

if apple had done this in the first place there would have been the initial publicity but it would have died down quickly and no one would have cared, But they had to act like a spoiled brat, and really this does them no harm, Apple fans will still be apple fans, so really don’t know why they messed about the first time.

They weren’t actually ordered to write an apology, they were ordered to publicly acknowledge that Samsung didn’t copy them which this does.

Apple, the word apology means that you include the words “apology”, “apologise” or “sorry” somewhere in your title. This just looks like a piece of legalese, reporting on a court judgement.

Didn’t even expect an apology – Apple are not being required to say sorry, just to publish the ruling that Samsung did not copy Apple (without any snarky comments about wins in other countries). This they have done. I expect their website version will be identicle in wording to this and to go up about 1 second before the end of the 48 hours they were given to comply.

Its a whole lot better then what they put on their website, and I don’t think the idea was for them to apologise, just to set the record straight that buying a Samsung Tablet wasn’t illegal.

The website statement was not only childish, but unclear as to what it actually meant, this is pretty straight to the point.
