When it comes to preparing a turkey, the focus these days seems to be on what ridiculous things you can stuff inside. And the Turducken, which sees the bird stuffed with a duck-stuffed chicken, might have met its match with the Turtwinkie.
Stuffing a turkey with cream-filled cakes might sound a little disgusting, but when it’s all said and done apparently you can’t even taste them. The Twinkie’s cream filling is actually removed first, and used as a turkey glaze which caramelises in the oven. And the golden cake is broken up and mixed with bread crumbs and other savoury ingredients to create a traditional stuffing. It’s apparently a great way to get fussy kids to enjoy turkey, and is yet more proof that the Twinkie needs to be recognised as its own separate food group. [YouTube via Foodbeast]

There is nothing good about this.
Also, how about the UK site focus on disgusting foodstuffs form UK instead of disgusting foodstuffs from US? Did you hear Hovis is in trouble?
+1
I actually have no idea what a Twinkie is. I’ve heard of them but that’s as far as it goes. From the little I do know, I know I don’t want to know any more
Apparently the company that makes Twinkies is in trouble too. But +1 to more UK oriented articles.
Please see my comment above!
We do actually filter through mostly global / UK-centric stories on weekdays, but on weekends us UK writers don’t actually work (well, much…she says, working at 10pm on Sunday night), so occasionally you have to cut us a break if we post the odd US story on weekends.
Besides, everyone knows what a Twinkie is. Apart from Beardyman, who appears not to have paid much attention to American pop-culture (good on him).
Nothing special about Twinkies. Friend got me a box of them from America whilst I was at Uni….I ate like 2 and didn’t want to eat them again. They tasted awful.
I never liked the word “Turducken” to describe what you can buy here as a “three bird roast”. If you want to create an appetising name for a foodstuff, starting it with the word “Turd” is not a good idea.
