More Star Wars scriptwriter news has emerged, with a couple of established industry names thrown into the stormtrooper helmet as possible writers of the eight and ninth instalments of the revived franchise.
Most exciting for Star Wars nerds is the apparent involvement of Lawrence Kasdan in potentially writing either Episode VIII or Episode IX, as he was the man who scripted The Empire Strikes Back. He was also the man responsible for Return of the Jedi and dreary Whitney Houston vehicle The Bodyguard, so don't get too excited.
Disney is also said to be talking with Simon Kinberg about writing the third of the new Star Wars movies. Kinberg was responsible for co-writing X-Men: The Last Stand and the big screen Sherlock Holmes remake. Both men are not George Lucas so we therefore approve. [Deadline via Total Film]
