How the iTunes App Store approval process works is still a complete mystery to those on the outside. Seemingly innocuous apps get rejected all the time, while a game like Word of the Rings with an icon that pays tribute to the infamous Goatse image have no problem passing muster.
I have no idea how you play Word of the Rings, but I’m terrified to know what happens when you win. [iTunes App Store via JPSquare]

It’s not like Goatse is in the App Store, just an app with the icon.
Not even that… Just; Just a slight tribute which very few people (especially with iPhones) will get.
You sound like you’ve been waiting your whole life for a goatse app
Who hasn’t?
If your avatar was the goatse image it would match up perfectly with the expression on mine.
Again, that avatar of yours is taking on a whole new context!
Although it’s nice to know, it really isn’t bad or anything. It’s just an image that looks like it but without anything offensive.
I’m not sure what this article is trying to say? It’s not as if the actual image is used in the app. A lot of people find guns offensive, do we ban apps with gun fighting too?
