On February 1, 2013 Netflix will premiere all 13 episodes of its latest original series, House of Cards in the US (with the UK to follow later). In the political drama directed by David Fincher (Fight Club, Zodiac, Se7en), Kevin Spacey plays sneaky Congressman Francis Underwood. Netflix is basing much of its hopes for differentiating its service from others on offering compelling original content, and Mr. Spacey is indeed compelling. He’s pretty freaking creepy, actually! Kind of like Kaiser Soze the politician?
The trailer looks promising, but we’ll reserve judgement since we were fooled by the heap of garbage that was Lilyhammer before. [Netflix via The Verge]

Original? Its a remake of the excellent Emmy award winning UK Series of the same name http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098825/
This word “Original”, I do not think it means what you think it means.
As awesome as the Spacemeister is, I doubt it will hold a candle to the original which was breathtakingly brilliant.
I really want to watch the original now……hmmm
Indeed… original in this sense usually means ‘ commissioned and made specifically for this channel’.
So although it’s essentially a remake of the BBC series (which in itself was an adaptation of a novel) and indeed there was also a later radio adaptation – this particular incarnation will be ‘Original’ to Netflix.
Living in Germany, I will have to resort to finding this show… ahem… elsewhere.
Or configure to an alternate DNS or use a VPN or whatever it is the cool kids are into to get US Netflix.
Sorry, I realise that doesn’t help. What I mean is… There are ways…..
