Half of the fun of using the Internet is finding weird and stupid things to share with your friends, but there are a whole bunch of ways to go about it. It gets even weirder when you’re in the same room with them and have to start passing around devices or start Facebooking each other from three feet away.
Back in the day, AIM used to be a common language most of us shared, and maybe today it’s Facebook? Then there’s also Gchat, Twitter, email, and whathaveyou. So here’s an informal poll: how do you go about getting hyperlinks from your computer to your bud’s? What’s your preferred link-vehicle?

Email or Bokmark and let chrome sync.
Usually imessage/whatsapp
Email normally, the friends I normally send links to check their emails on a regular basis
Skype usually, since everyone I know uses it.
I don’t. I’ll share videos on Facebook and forums but they’re not aimed towards any one in particular (but if they were they’d be shared in the same way). On a related note I use Google Chromes “Chrome to phone” feature to send pages to my phone which is pretty damn cool, just a shame it doesn’t work in reverse. Also a way to share pages between browsers on different computers when I’m logged in would be nice, without having to bookmark them.
Google chrome has that with Chrome Sync, you can view which pages are open on other devices, that’s how I share pages between work and home without bookmarks
Never noticed that before, is it a fairly new feature?
Since Google Chrome 19 I think
If I’m sending a link I shorten it with goo.gl
If I need it on another device I’ll chrome sync it
If I’m showing someone in the same room I have no problem with Facebook, Skype or giving them the device
Normally post something on Facebook or Twitter if it’s particularly funny and not aimed towards anyone in particular. If it’s to a specific friend, Facebook chat or Skype chat when were all talking together.
This got me thinking!
URLs are pretty easy, and I use the tabs feature between my iPhone and iPhone, which works well.
What I find still missing is things other than links, say, a location I read about on my iPad, but then want google, or, god forbid, apple maps to take me there on my iPhone…. How about a Cloud Clipboard feature, where anything you select and copy is uploaded to the cloud and available to paste on any of your devices?
O, not so good for sharing between friends, but between your own devices this would be great! Mind you, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is standard functionality in Andriod
